September 5, 2016: Mom attends BC Fed labour day.

I still often underestimate how much of a difference getting out into the real world– even when it is likely to involve a place that is “busy” and involves slowing down less. In this case, the weather was okay, the outdoor events was very good and the sensation of happily enjoying others company and being a part of an event made for a day that left Mom more solid.

Just got home from the BC Fed’s Burnaby Labor day thing, took mom and listened to 54-40 live, which is always nice.

Mom really loves going to these types of events, even if her ability to talk with people has changed and is limited. I know her– and I also don’t think she’s unusual for someone in her predicament. I was expecting it to be okay for her and good for me, but based on her facial expressions (and her lack of wanting to leave), she had more enjoyment than I did.

Your elders want to go out with you. Take them.

That’s all. Happy labour day, still nothing to lose but our chains…
