Perhaps obviously, I wrote this in the morning of Mom’s birthday before we went out. I don’t remember all of many days, even many of the better ones of the last few years have had one over-arching vagueness in the memory after the fact. One day at a time life is like that. But I recall how good the weather was, and how this particular warm sunny October 14 allowed a much better emotional setting for the Fall, despite the marked decline in people paying attention to Donna after her independence faded. She was warm, enjoyed her feathery friends and I took what amounted to a seasonal deep breath as the following few months (both then and in future years) push the buttons of endurance.
Mom went to bed with love and a smile and I went to the couch after filled with conviction. Such was therefore a very successful day.
October 14, 2015
Today is a lot of things, but by far the most important is that it is Donna Stainsby‘s 75th rocking birthday! The spirits around us have seen it fit to have this day fall on a Wednesday, a day when mom and I spend the day together… and with lovely sunshine outside to top it off!
Mom & I will enjoy a large brunch in a few minutes, followed by us both enjoying a lovely afternoon in her favourite park with our favourite feathered friends… and home in time to relax and be ready for the days that come.
Love you on your birthday Mom, and love you tomorrow and yesterday, too..!
